Protected WMV files
There are some WMV files that seem to have DRM. They don't open in Media Player Classic or VLC and need Windows Media Player to open.
Usually a "Media Usage Rights Acquisition" window pops up and I don't know what to click. My antivirus goes wild and it sometimes just starts to play.

Any help?
Thank you

What player do you use for .wmv then? Pretty sure I confused you about my question though.

there are some video was protected, when you open up the the file, it will link to certain web site to download something like encoder key, after that only you able to play that video.
so far, i never seen any hack or program that can by pass this process.

I agree with you, I haven't seen any hack can bypass this process as well. So, what you can do is look for other source or format since there is nothing you can do about the protected files.

Okay thank you for all the replies :) :excellence
Was hoping there was something I didn't know and I guess theres no going around it.
The sites that opens are rarely reliable or consistent (like it would let me click play after 30 seconds) so I will try my best to just find non-wmv files.

try to find a freeware called FairUse4WM, which is said can easily dump the wmv files that is protected by DRM
