dr dre beats on saleEli Manning busbuwf
the flea-flicker to start out was a great play, taking advantage of the success of the delayed pitch to helu that they have been running.
not as many as us... also we struggle to kickoff in bounds haha
other teams miss fgs too.
i do remember from earlier in the season more than half weren’t his fault, yet they’re still in his total because of the way stats are kept.

i love that the team is playing with such heart and fighting to win even when the playoffs are no longer in reach as it shows that they are still hungry for wins. i hope they carry that attitude through the end of this season and into next season.
5. a lot can happen in the next week or two, but there still exists the possibility that on the last day of the season, the eagles will have to beat us to make the playoffs. as far as super bowls-that-aren't-super bowls go, that would be huge for the redskins. i want that game.

without knowing that, there’s no point in trying to put a specific number on them
talk about never giving up during a game. with that huge of a lead, beats by dre solo, i kept saying to myself…….it’s only a matter of time before the skins let the giants back in the game. but it never happened. everyone stepped up yesterday. sometimes that’s the way games go. nicks dropped 2 td passes….wow. we flat out punished the giants. with so much on the line for them, there’s no way you come out and put on that type of performance!
…where you said that giants fans are cocky. i live in nj so i see it first hand, and there was just an assumption that they were going to win big yesterday. not to mention every pregame show i watched yesteday had every analyst picking ny without thinking twice. and then buck and aikman went on the entire game about how the giants were so great and failed to do this and gave away that – and gave zero credit to what the redskins were doing. hopefully this is just a sign of thigs to come where we keep beating quality opponents and stay under the radar

2nd round project? or we gonna trade the farm to move up?. i rather start beck all year next year and go 0-16 then go 8-8 or with rex and a project qb on the bench plus still not have any young depth this year could set us back to the zorn era if shanny panics and trades away our picks to move up to get one of the top 3 guys. we had a 6 game losing streak this year.. 3 of them was because shanahan started beck. when u have a bad year like this you should be drafting high. but like always we finish strong and end up middle of the pack in the draft screwing us the next year. then the big name coach or the owner gets his panies in a bunch and makes dumb moves and over pays for fa and trys to trade up for players giving away our picks

6. i know he didn't have a huge game necessarily, but i have very high hopes for niles paul next year. against the giants, he had one carry for seven yards. he didn't necessarily do much on sunday to cause me to have such high expectations all of a sudden. but every week, watching his effort on special teams and then getting to see how strong he is with the football in his hands makes me think that after a full offseason program, his role in our offense could be significantly increased. i believe ten of our twelve draft picks have been on the field as of late contributing. some have been pressed into service because of injuries,dr.dre beats, while some are getting playing time thanks to the position the team finds itself in. we have to remember, these guys got next to no offseason last year. the experience they are getting now combined with an offseason of studying and developing could result in a huge leap forward for a significant portion of our roster.

but aren’t completed passes or incompletions better than int’s?
but you know, we kinda played good while you were banned….
this past off season was fantastic, but there are only so many moves that can be made. shanahan wasn’t really staking his reputation on his quarterbacks, that’s just media inference. i think he took a look at what was available on both sides of the ball in the draft and fa and decided to focus on defense. look at how that payed off!
yes
so the point is that because i can’t quantify something by they official score keeping i must be wrong? hell they might even keep that stat, if you can show me where they keep deep stats like who tips balls, i can’t even find a stat to say how often cbs are thrown to.

your 2012 redskins starting offense
“going over #usc tape on kalil, just see an average physically gifted qb in matt barkley, smart, natural feel, but see a “plus” mark sanchez"
i guess it’s the “abusee” syndrome. we’ve been abused so much, we’ve developed a relationship with the abuser.
i personally thought this “ints are punts” thing was just a running joke during the gameday threads but seeing ken put it up there made me do a double take because i really didn’t think people seriously believed it.
my focus was on the 50% of total picks due to the wr corps either handing the ball over to the opposition or running an obviously wrong route and the ball going to where they should have been.

4. there is a disdain that i, as a redskins fan, reserve only for the dallas cowgirls. but there is something about watching tom coughlin's face contort and wince as he realizes he is getting beaten by a team that he has no business losing to that i especially relish. between that and watching the wheels come off of the eli manning bus, there was no shortage of joys that redskins fans relished in yesterday. i know some people think that taking pleasure in the demise of others is a little twisted, but that is how it goes in the nfc east.

our d was good before shanahan got here. the switch to 3-4 made it almost last. we get some guys to fit the 3-4 better so it looks better this year. but we have alot of trouble stpping the run when teams stick to it .. he is gonna have to make some really big splashes in fa plus be able to resign our good players. with next weeks win our chance at a qb in any round will be gone unless he trades up or drafts a 2nd round qb in the late first after a trade back.but ill have to hope he can pull it all off some how.. because win or lose ill always be a redskin fan. was just hoping to put another bad season to good use for a change.

his turnovers are primarily of two varieties: 1) underthrown deep balls because he has a wet noodle for an arm. 2) he hits a linebacker in the chest with a perfectly thrown ball because he didn’t see him. okay, yes, there was the play were moss tossed the ball to a defender, but generally, the turnovers are on rex.

yes, all of them weren’t his fault. you pointed out the immediate 3 that come to mind. but how many of them were intercepted when rex should have made the smart play instead of trying to put it where it shouldn’t be?

yes, i guess we can all agree that a long int is better than 6 points for the other team
2. if you watched any of the tampa bay/dallas game, you saw a good example of a team (buccaneers) with players that have stopped caring. unfortunately, we have seen that ourselves over the years, but we have not seen it under mike shanahan. every sunday, it is like we are watching a group of guys that think they are still very much alive for postseason qualification. our offense has played hard and gotten better, but it is our defense that has played with a fire not generally seen by teams playing out the string. our defensive linemen stuck their noses in to stop the run and our secondary stepped up to create a few huge turnovers. it didn't hurt that hakeem nicks seemed to have a wad of cash on the redskins. win or lose, it is this kind of competitive spirit and fight that will benefit us greatly in 2012.
because it's completely normal for teams to punt on 1st and second down?

as for me, all i know is that i know nothing.
*socrates*
to be honest our off season started when shanahan said our only options at qb was beck or grossmen.. did you watch any of the 3 games beck started ??? it was like taking a knee every single snap!… shanahan put his rep on the line with those two qbs.. but really he just threw it off a cliff lol.. the good play you see now if from guys trying to keep their jobs or playing in a contract year… we are playing like we did in the pre season now.. but once they start to count again the depth issues and bad qbs will keep us right at 5-11 to 8-8 at best.
i considered using my powers to grant you a thanksgiving pardon (like the president, i pardon one turkey each year), but i never doubted for a second we would win two games and get you back here. this is the way you wanted it i am sure.
the offseason will be interesting in a good way.
those three plays come immediately to mind. i know there are more and if i can find video of all of his picks i’ll make a fan post for you.
if he lost again, he could be gone the entire offseason. no h8 for months on end.

shanny certainly had a giant bag of tricks to open the game.
the stats were misleading. he was bend throughout the entire game, and then break in the 4th quarter. his d forced no turnovers, and limited our player’s potential. this d is really good, and now we have two great pass rushers set for the next ten years, as well as a ss who isn’t a complete bust anymore, thanks to haslett.

it’s pretty lame when a perfectly thrown ball gets tipped by an unfocused wr and the blame falls on the qb. sure, at the time it’s acknowledged that they aren’t his fault, but it still goes on the qbs stats and everyone forgets that those picks weren’t his fault.

also agree with six, these suspensions and injuries are a blessing in disguise, making our reserve players and rookies more seasoned, which in turn will make us a deeper team in the future, if not supplying us with starters
if you accept those three as not being rex’s fault that makes his ratio 13:15. far from perfect. again i’ll try to pull them up, but i recall making arguments (that weren’t refuted) that only 3 of his first 7 were due to him making a bad decision.

replace moss, hankerson and armstrong with guys that run the routes at the right times and don’t tip the ball up and the perfectly wrong time he’d have a much, much better ratio.

3. there was something about rex getting that interception off on the first throw that made me actually feel pretty good. it was as cleansing as it was predictable. it was like he was trying to get it out of the way so he could move on to the business of rexifying new york. i can honestly say i was unfazed by that first interception. what made me nervous throughout the game were his pitches to the running back. was it just me or were those pitches as nerve-wracking as some of his deep balls? has anyone ever thrown an interception when attempting a backwards pitch to the tailback?

it’s what he had to agree to in getting the nickname “sexy rexy”.
no, he wouldn't. his career is 1:1. he's pretty much right on course.
as they go, rex is a real quality treat. i mean, he is like a hall of famer compared to some of the other f*cking terrible quarterbacks we have had…don’t make me name them all.
though after these wins things look especially rosey in redskin land, know that we are more than just a qb away from greatness. the road ahead is long and tumultuous, but at least its the right road.

or rex grossman's int:td ratio
about half the ints are bad throws — bad decisions. about 75% of those picks are bombs with no return that give the other team about as good field position as a punt. the rest 25% are horrible, but they happen even to the best qbs. the rest of the picks wouldn’t happen with a disciplined wr corps.

i’ve been saying for the whole second half of this year that this team is only a good qb away from contending. i believe it now as much as ever. these wins only fuel that for me. yes it is hurting their draft pick standing but, more importantly, proving that they have many of the needed players for a real, contending team.

college bowl picks
a lot of his turnovers weren’t bad passes, they were wrs playing pee wee. there were numerous tip ups (armstrong and moss) and a few blown routes (moss, hankerson). most of his picks have at least doubled as punts since they were long distance and didn’t have a return (even though they weren’t on 4th down)

i was providing a silver lining: at least rex’s mistakes don’t lead to instant touchdowns. i’ve classified those additionally as bad decisions. when he’s thrown them it’s almost always been in double coverage where the coverage isn’t beat and he hasn’t lead the receiver away from pursuit, he’s usually lead down field right to where the safety is going.

at least his picks are more like punts. when they make the pick there’s usually a guy right there to take him down.
i don’t think anyone would blame rex for the pick last week that moss handed to the patriots. they don’t blame him for that pick vs the cardinals either where there was clear uncalled pass interference (or holding on the d) and armstrong tipped the ball up for the birds. yet how quickly those picks get thrown back into the bad number, bad rex! collection.

well guess what? wrs in the nfl drop passes and run incorrect routes at times
what made the game was that early drop by nicks after rex threw the int. in fact, the giants were unable to capitalize on both of rex’s early turnovers.

1. as a prognosticator of redskins games, i have correctly predicted close to 100% of our wins over the last few seasons (nobody had us winning that philly game on the road in jim zorn's first year). sure, i almost always predict a win, but vegas is always telling me there's a chance. (what was all that one-in-a-million talk?) this win was a bit easier to see coming, not because i thought the giants weren't going to show up--which they didn't--but because our offense has seemed to play better and better and the new york team has quietly been extremely mediocre. in short, the giants were ripe for the picking by a team with nothing else to play for except pride. make no mistake about it--the giants should feel embarrassed, humiliated and ashamed of their performance. they laid an egg that could cost them a playoff chance and they did it against a divisional rival, at home, in december and with first place on the line. you know who the most confident fans were yesterday at 12:59 pm est? new york giants fans. patriots fans were rightfully concerned about denver and even green bay fans knew that a team like kansas city could be very dangerous. but nobody felt more cocky than giants fans...and why wouldn't they? they had won nine of eleven against us. they had first place in their sights and only the redskins in their path. what could go wrong? hahahaha...

we just need a good qb and depth.. something i thought we would get after this year. by shanahan anoucing rex and beck as our only option at qb. we woulda went 6-0 this year pretty easy with a better qb option. then injuries kicked in and our depth issues showed up. leaving us in a world of hurt.
i guarantee this off season will be almost exclusively offense oriented with a few d moves for good measure. next season i think the redskins will be in the best shape they’ve been in for a long, long time. regardless of their record i think they’ve played well this year despite their personnel. with almost complete lack of play makers they already looked better this season than for the past few. even starting beck, which led to their worst stretch, is a moot point since rex had pneumonia. if he wasn’t sick (which i think really led to beck’s start) this season probably would look quite different now.

i can see the logic if its 3rd and 27, and we heave up a bomb that gets picked off in traffic; however, when we do a flea-flicker on 1st down, and moss beats his man, the throw should go for a td, big gain, or an incomplete on an overthrow

what are you talking about?
i can understand being pissed about constantly losing, but we as fans need to root for our team just as hard when they win. shanahan, despite what you may think, does have a plan and i think he’s executed very well for the most part. i realize the moves they’ve made in the past have bred this line of thought, but don’t despair in the middle of the rebuild. this team is finally on the right path again and i for one am excited for the wins and reasonably hopeful for the future, which is something we haven’t been for a few years. enjoy it.

time for mike munchak to make a big boy decision
do you blame rex for the game ending pick versus the pats where santana moss threw the ball up in the air after he had it?
from my first post that started this tangent
the rest of the picks wouldn’t happen with a disciplined wr corps.

do they show dropped balls by our wr? cause that would back my claim that our guy’s aren’t the most disciplined group
with our running game stepping up, the giants looked completely lost on coverage. helu had a big game, not inyards, but in having the giants off balance on the defense. rex grossman will be our starting qb next year and i can live with that. i know alot of people can’t stand to hear it, but he will be starting for us next year. you can’t throw a rookie into the fire, as we all should know.
the redskins played well, and played dominant d with the lead. shows you how good this defense can be when they are playing with a lead.

it’s more of a tarnished lining, i don’t take it super seriously considering we could have just put sav out there on the opening play every other drive, but it’s better than giving up pick-6s
even though i’m sure theres a breakdown of his picks somewhere online
i just can’t get enough of that winning crap. hope we keep piling it on into next year.
